The program
Ember Keepers operates a text message (SMS) program for customers and prospective customers of our chimney and fireplace services in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. Messages are sent from (888) 361-7668. Ember Keepers is a trade name of Ember Keepers Chimney and Fireplace, Inc.
Enrolling in text messages is optional. It is not a condition of scheduling service, receiving an estimate, or purchasing anything from us.
What we send
We operate two separate message categories. You choose them independently, and you may take one without the other.
Service and appointment messages
- Appointment confirmations and scheduling changes
- Appointment reminders
- Technician-on-the-way notifications
- Follow-up after a completed chimney inspection, sweep, or repair
- Follow-up on an estimate or quote we have given you
Offers and annual safety reminders
- Annual chimney safety inspection reminders
- Seasonal offers, such as pre-heating-season sweep scheduling
- Occasional promotions on our services
How you join
You are only enrolled if you gave us permission in one of these ways:
- You checked one or both text message consent boxes on a form at callemberkeepers.com.
- You initialed and signed the text message consent block on an Ember Keepers service agreement or work order.
- You gave verbal permission while booking service by phone, and our representative recorded it in your customer record.
We never add a number to this program from a purchased list, a lead broker, or any third party.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Service and appointment messages are tied to work you have scheduled, typically two to six messages per appointment. Offers and annual safety reminders are sent roughly four to eight times per year.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Ember Keepers does not charge for these messages, but your mobile carrier may. Check your plan. You are responsible for any charges from your carrier.
How to stop messages
Reply STOP to any message from us and you will be unsubscribed. STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT all work. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and then we will stop.
Replying STOP stops text messages only. It does not cancel a scheduled appointment, and it does not stop us from calling or emailing you about work you have booked. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, call us.
You can also opt out by calling (888) 361-7668 or emailing office@callemberkeepers.com.
If you opt out and later want messages again, reply START or ask us to re-enroll you. We will re-confirm your consent before sending anything.

Supported carriers
Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, and most other U.S. carriers. Carrier support may change without notice.
Carrier liability
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of text messages is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and is outside of our control. You should not rely on a text message as your only notice of an appointment.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and the account holder of, or authorized to use, the mobile number you give us. Do not enroll a number that is not yours.
Privacy
Your mobile number and your consent are handled under our Privacy Policy. In short: no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We disclose your number only to the telecommunications provider that delivers our messages, and where required by law.
We keep a record of your consent, and of any opt-out request, for at least five years.
Changes to this program
We may change or end this text message program at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
